The financial market turmoil almost got into me.. mentally

I had a good chat with Mel today. Mel is an influential figure in my area..  he’s the founder and  owner of the closest convinience store from my office a.k.a my morning coffee, afternoon snack and evening ice cream provider… better not mess with him, or else you’ll walk an extra half a mile to get them… one way (that’s just too much of my calories to burn!)

Anyway, all day long, everytime I visited his store he’s tuned into a news program that talked about the BIG bail out by the government.  Finally, in my last visit at 9:17 pm, we had a chance to chat about stuff… and guess what, the conversation was about the big financial mess, how the government screw us up bla bla bla…  Actually it’s more of one way conversation from him to me. I know I could’ve stood there for another half an hour had I tried to be nice and listened to his rant.  So, I gathered up my courage and told him “Stop!… stop polluting your mind with all of this negative thoughts”.  We then chatted a little bit more until a customer walked in and I took that split second opportunity to escape… till tomorrow morning.

Who doesn’t get distracted by the news?  I do too. But the thing is, there’s a difference between being aware of the current situation and the current situation takes over of your awarness.

Until yesterday, I allowed the media and its negativity got into my head  Today, I applied “The Secret”, I applied the law of attraction into my life.

Law of Attraction says people’s thoughts (both conscious and unconscious) dictate the reality of their lives, whether or not they’re aware of it. Essentially “if you really want something and believe it’s possible, you’ll probably get it” but that putting a lot of attention and thought onto something you don’t want means you’ll probably get that too.

What I did was to acknowledge that there’s a problem out there, there’s nothing I can about it, thus, might as well to think positively about iSpionage and use that brain capacity to actually get works done. Today I feel much better than in the past few days, and I get more “A” level tasks done… which includes updating this blog.

There were many features released that we never had a chance to socialize it. At the same time we’ve learnt quite a bit about our users, their needs, and which functionalities helps them out.

Since our user base has grown rapidly, I will start using the blog as a mean of communication. Besides, it’s good for SEO as well 🙂

To summarize, the moral of the story:

  1. Be a positive thinker, guard your mind from the toxic news outhere. Protect the most sophisticated technology on earth from being polluted with negative thoughts.
  2. From now on, I’ll try my best to update  the blog more often so I can communicate with you more!
